Spicy Kaiju LLC is a business which aims to provide customers with one of a kind handmade products for cosplay and self expression! Our products consists primarily of realistic looking animal ear headbands made with 100% fake fur. Artist/Owner, Hilary Suarez, began Spicy Kaiju as a passion project in August 2020. Having been interested in the act of creation since the days of notebook paper and crayons, Hilary's art has gone through an expansive journey. Hilary briefly studied art academically after high school at UW Parkside, but left and continued expanding her skills and knowledge on her own. Moving from photography, to ink, to watercolor, and now wearable art in the form of handmade luxury faux fur ears, Hilary is known online under the pseudonyms Spicy Kaiju for her textile art, and Futile Doodle for her traditional (paper/paint/ink) art.

Spicy Kaiju is operated solely by Hilary Suarez. Purchasing from Spicy Kaiju ensures you are supporting an individual artist. Being the only person behind the scenes means each item is lovingly crafted from start to finish with care and an ambitious standard of quality.

What to Expect From Your Spicy Kaiju Order:

Spicy Kaiju products are 100% handmade by one artist! This means no two items will be truly identical. The ears are made with wire inside so they can be adjusted/reshaped to your liking. You may notice small inconsistencies between products as a result of their handmade charm, but we do strive to keep inconsistencies to a minimum as a way of ensuring total satisfaction! Colors may appear slightly different from their true tones and hues as a result of the device you may be using to view them. Each Spicy Kaiju order will come with small freebies such as stickers! And of course, ALL ITEMS ARE MADE USING FAKE FUR! Additionally, Spicy Kaiju ears are WEARABLE ART, they are not toys. Purchasing with the intent to give to a child is your discretion, but we do not recommend it and are not responsible for injuries or accidents that may occur.

Allergy Concerns

Spicy Kaiju is currently operated in a home that is shared with cats and rats. They are kept away from the materials and an air purifier is always running within the space. However, if you have severe allergies, please consider this before submitting an order. Your health and safety is important and invaluable!

What About Shipping?

All Spicy Kaiju orders are fulfilled through USPS. Once the item is shipped, it is out of the control of Spicy Kaiju. Items are sent in a box rather than a mailing bag as a way to ensure the ears arrive safely and undamaged. All items are shipped with $50 of insurance. Please review your shipping info at checkout, as we are not responsible for items shipped to a wrong address that was provided at checkout.

Returns?

Spicy Kaiju sales are FINAL with minimal exception for custom orders. Premade items are photographed in multiple angles to provide the buyer with a better idea of what they are purchasing. We ask that you please examine the photos carefully if you are hesitant about purchasing.

How Can I Care for My Spicy Kaiju Ears?

We recommend maintaining their fur by gently using a comb. We do not suggest styling with any heated products! Keep away from extreme heat such as fire, hair dryers, etc. Keep away from water and avoid using soap. All Spicy Kaiju ears are airbrushed to achieve their unique appearance. Water and detergent can permanently alter/damage their appearance. We recommend storing your ears away from direct sunlight, pets, and children when they are not being worn.

How Can I Place a Custom Order?

Custom orders are occasionally open. When they are available, you will see an item in our shop named CUSTOM ORDER. Within 2 business days after completing your purchase, you will receive an email from our shop to obtain specific details about your custom order, such as color and placement of any jewelry. If your custom order requires additional details such as extra jewelry or charms, you may discuss this within your email correspondence and pay an additional fee.

What Should I Know About Custom Orders?

As a rule, Spicy Kaiju WILL NOT recreate the work of another artist. When purchasing a custom order, you are agreeing to Spicy Kaiju's style and skill level. Custom orders also take significant amounts of time, as our shop is run by ONE artist. From start to completion, a custom order can take 3 - 6 weeks. Your patience during this process is invaluable and very appreciated! The end goal is to create a treasured one of a kind item after all. In the event that you are unhappy with your custom order, you will be refunded 50% of the item's cost and 0% of the shipping charges.

What is Futile Doodle?

Futile Doodle is a pseudonym of Spicy Kaiju's creator, Hilary Suarez. This pseudonym separates the type of artwork Hilary releases into the world. Artwork you will find under Futile Doodle will be watercolor and ink paintings. Hilary is mostly self taught and is constantly striving to grow her skills.
